17 months and 2 weeks

With the snow week, we have been loving all the time we get to spend with Gideon. He has been learning new games, being an airplane, sitting while reading a book and laughing at all of garrett's jokes. It will be hard to drop him off at daycare on Monday.

He is currently loving to move around his foam armchair. He can move it away from the wall and flip it over so he can stand on top of it. Sometimes, it gets stuck in between the couches and he has no way to go around it that it frustrates him.

Gideon is still a vegetarian. He loves hummus, falafel, veggie patties and black bean taquitos. We are trying to hide other types of protein in rice or with the hummus. Nope, he picks it out and leaves it on the tray. He is not a huge fan of sticky, gooey or slimey food items. He likes his food dry so he can pick it up on the first try. Sometimes, he doesn't eat fresh fruit because of the texture. Garrett calls him "Gail Simmons" sometimes, a la Top Chef judge who always comments on textures.

Today is a big day, the day before the Lunar New Year and the 49ers game. Here is his weekly picture supporting his favorite team in California.

It's been a strange week, from snow storms and freezing temperatures, to life at home and even a brief power outage this morning.

All is well, however... and the big thing that helps keep us all feeling grateful and blessed is Gideon himself. Hearing his joyful laugh is therapeutic... check it out:

17 months and 1 week

With snow outside, I am finally updating the blog. I love postseason football games. I spent the weekend watching games. Gideon would be surprised when I would cheer. Gideon wore his 49ers jersey all day on Saturday. He took his nap during the 2nd and 3rd quarter. We were happy when Gideon woke up for the 4th quarter. He will wear the jersey again on Sunday, Jan 22nd. Yes, we did not wash the jersey and yes, he will wear it all day, even at Makayla's birthday party.

Here is a picture of us cheering the niners. Gideon likes to point his finger, but I think he was saying number 1!





Snow arrived in the Pacific Northwest over the MLK weekend. Gideon does not have any snow clothes, so he didn't get to touch it. He did get to see it and walk around a little. He was not sure about it at all. I think he liked it best when we were watching the snowfall from inside the house by the window.

We are very excited to announce that we are expecting baby Chan #2 around July 27th. We know there will be many adjustments and transitions, but we know we can depend on friends and family who will support us through the first weeks of crazy!
